Three Views Concerning the Antichrist:
the European, the Islamic, &
the Western/Islamic View

THE POPULAR VIEWPOINT ON THE LAST DAYS WHEN I WAS GROWING UP IN THE 50’S AND 60’S WAS THAT JESUS IS COMING BACK AND WE NEED TO GET READY. THOSE WHO WERE NOT, WOULD SUFFER THE WRATH OF ANTICHRIST AND ETERNITY IN HELL. It was in the 70’S that Hal Lindsey published his book, “The Late Great Planet Earth.” This opened the eyes of millions to prophecy and popularized the view that the Antichrist would arise out of a revived Roman Empire. This was the popular view held by the majority until Joel Richardson came out with his book, “The Islamic Antichrist” in 2009. This view proposes that the Antichrist will rise up out of a Revived Ottoman Empire. In 2015 Steve Magill published his book, “Revelation and the Age of Antichrist,” suggesting that the Antichrist will be Islamic arriving out of the new world order put in place by Great Britain and the United States.

THE EUROPEAN ANTICHRIST (EAC)

This view suggests that the Antichrist will rise up out of a Revived Roman Empire, becoming it’s leader. With the technology and military might of the west (Europe and America) at his disposal he will set up his 666 economic system. It is believed the Antichrist will be of European descent, most likely a Roman. It was Hal Lindsey and his book, “The Late Great Planet Earth,” which popularized this view.

THE ISLAMIC ANTICHRIST (IAC)

The view here is that the Antichrist will rise up out of a Revived Ottoman Empire, becoming the Muslims long awaited Messiah, al Mahdi, who Muslims believe is on the scene now waiting for chaos to permeate the world and Muslims to assimilate into the nations. He will use the Arabs great wealth to establish a new global economy which we know as the cashless, 666 mark of the beast economy. It was Joel Richardson and his book, “The Islamic Antichrist,” which has popularized this view in recent years.

THE WESTERN/ISLAMIC ANTICHRIST (WIAC)

The view here is that the Antichrist will rise up out of a new world order where all nations are realigned into 10 economic/political regions. The Antichrist will rise up out of this realignment and will be given the leadership to exert his will. He will mandate his 666 cashless economic system and persecute, throw in prison, even kill everyone who does not submit.

The Western empires of Great Britain and the United States will give direction to the world to establish what is called the new world order, which is the realignment of all nations into ten economic/political regions. Once this realignment is in place, the Islamic Antichrist will take leadership over the new world order. It is Steve Magill and his book, “Revelation and the Age of Antichrist,” which advances this view.

The European view advanced by Hal Lindsey cannot be complete because it does not take into consideration Scripture’s clear teaching on where the Antichrist arrives from, as revealed in Daniel chapters 8 and 11. Neither can the Islamic view be complete because it does not take into consideration the European nations which lay the foundation for the Antichrist’s arrival, recorded in Daniel 7. The EAC and IAC views have risen up because there is much Scriptural support for both the European and Middle Eastern connection of the Antichrist. Once we take into consideration the above, the pieces fall into place as we outline in “Revelation and the Age of Antichrist,” that both the Western nations and Middle Eastern nations play a critical role in bringing forth the Antichrist.
